It was the spring of 1946 when the first Vespa, the legendary 98cc, rolled out of the Pontedera plant. On the seventieth anniversary of that historic moment, the Piaggio Group pays tribute to the most beloved scooter ever with a special version. It is a personalisation that celebrates the history of a vehicle that went beyond its function of agile and fun commuting to become a symbol of the times. Today Vespa is not just a scooter, it is the most famous and beloved two-wheeled vehicle in the world.

In seventy years of history and after more than 18 million units, Vespa has brought young people from distant and various cultures together in a single passion. The first truly global brand in mobility, Vespa has interacted with social environments that at opposite ends of the spectrum, generating various cultural phenomena particular to the different settings where it integrated to the point of becoming a protagonist and a distinctive trait. It has led fashion, music and youth revolutions. It has accompanied populations through their growth. It has sped them along in phases of economic well-being. And today it is one of the most popular and well-known Italian products in every corner of the globe, with a cult following and the symbol of timeless elegance.

And so three models - the quick and agile Primavera, the GTS flagship and the insurmountable PX - celebrate this incredible milestone with a special series that stands out with an exclusive chromatic look with a new colour schemes: Azzurro 70, a special colour that draws from the best Vespa tradition and makes its début on this unrepeatable occasion. Both of the colour schemes enhance and highlight the charm of the Vespa design, filtering through seven decades of stylistic evolution.

The Vespa Settantesimo range is also made truly special by a series of luxurious personalisations that provide a brand new and elegant dark brown coloured saddle, finished with contrasting beige piping and thermobonding that depicts the Vespa Settantesimo logo, elegantly placed at the height of the passenger seat. The livery for all the Vespa Settantesimo is also characterised by a dedicated graphic on the leg shield back plate, whereas the wheels are “dark” finished thanks to a specific, non-standard paint. The classic chromium plated rear luggage rack (an icon of Vespa heritage) completes the equipment and holds an elegant bag, colour coded to match the saddle and bearing the seventieth anniversary logo.

The Vespa PX holds a special place in this celebration (in the eternal 125 cc and 150 cc engine capacities), a timeless legend which, thanks in part to its manual four speed gearbox, remains a legendary and inimitable model. To celebrate its seventieth birthday Vespa could not neglect the Primavera, the model that best interprets the youngest and cheekiest spirit of the range and which, with the introduction of ABS in the 125 and 150 engine versions, also confirms its attention to safety and continuous technological upgrades which has always marked Vespa's history. The Vespa GTS 300 also takes on the festive look, the large body Vespa, the sportiest and most powerful, christened for some time now as the Vespa family technological cutting-edge.
